DESIGNER FOCUS: EJIRO AMOS TAFIRI

You know the saying that goes "A prophet is not recognized in his own home/area/country".
Well its not a new thing that most of us Nigerians (I'm no exception) don't seem to give cognizance to things that are Nigerian-made. For instance, I don't watch Nigerian movies (Same ol', Same ol'), vewy few Nigerian musicians interest me, and worst of all, I know nothing about the fashion industry in Nigeria (that bad). I have always been focused on foreign designers and brands but I've decided to turn a new leaf. Its time to value what we have. There are amazing designers here in Nigeria and doing this"Designer Focus" would give You and I an insight to what they have. Lets ride!

During the Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Award (which I didn't even watch, smh), a few dresses stood out on the red carpet for me and I found a new love.

Ejiro Amos Tafiri is an exciting brand in the Nigerian fashion scene. Their brand focuses on producing wearable clothing and accessories inspired by the vibrant, fun loving, joie de vivre culture of the Lagos people and the cultural diversity of its populace which spans the globe.

We have our vision set on becoming a global brand associated with the creation of beautiful, functional, and affordable“- Ejiro Amos Tafiri

    1. Suggestions?
Btw, this is a personal style blog that includes what I love about fashion. I don't 'dish' out stories.
But any suggestion that might be of interest to me n the lovely readers would be considered. This is not just the right place for it, a mail would have sufficed.
      Thanks.

  11. Wow!!
She is a very talented designer indeed. As a Nigerian, I too am guilty of over-looking some of our talent people... I will definitely be keeping an eye out for more of her collections and other Nigerian designers in the future.
    Thanks for this post!
