EMERALD GREEN.

Happy Sunday beautiful people! So, this is what I wore to church today. Didn't av the strength to fuss over numerous outfit choice, I chose to keep it simple. I av had this top for a long, long time now n avnt had any reason to wear it cos its so... complex (I think). What I really love about this high-low top is the colour.

Emerald green, coming from the Latin ‘smaragus’ or ‘precious stone’, has been named as Pantone’s Colour of the Year for 2013. In the middle ages, the emerald was known as the sacred stone of the goddess Venus, and is said to make those in contact with it ‘lucky in love’. Take a look at our style pointers on how best to style your exotic new color for the New Year.

  • DO team with neutral or black shoes and a bag to make the emerald really pop
  •  DO contrast with a bright lipstick
  • DO mix with gold accessories for that regal touch
  • DO add metallic shades of nail polish to give your look the edge
  • DON’T team with red or risk looking like a Christmas tree
  • DON’T team with pink as the contrast is not aesthetically pleasing
  • DON’T be afraid to mix with quirky prints such as pants/blazer this season
Remember to work your emerald green into the night- the power of the emerald is said to be the highest at the full moon!
